The Head of Operations will have overall responsibility for the APAC Operational teams, creating and executing a clear operations strategy that ensures alignment with SThree's vision, purpose, and strategic priorities in the region. They will also work closely with the Global Director of Operations and their team.
Leadership
Direct accountability for the APAC operational teams, specifically:
- Contracts placements and payroll
- Placement support
- Finance business administration
- Office and facilities management
- Strategy and business operations
・ Work with the Director of Operations and partner with the Senior Regional sales team to drive strategy, continuous improvement, collaboration and customer excellence.
・ Foster a culture of collaboration, connection, empowerment, authenticity, and positive change - to build consensus and influence support for all strategic objectives
・ Role model and promote coaching and mentoring, to build and grow operational capability.
Business Improvement
・ Work with Japan and Singapore country managers and other functional leads to periodically create strategy documents, translating business plans and goals (strategic, financial and otherwise) into clear, well-designed presentations. Assist in facilitation and delivery of said presentations to the board and/or global project teams as required.
・ Embed strategic initiatives for change and innovation, translating strategy into actions for sustainable growth
・ Develop, lead, and implement a business continuity plan to ensure no impact to operations in an emergency response, crisis management situation
・ Develop a strong CI culture and embed that mindset throughout the organisation
・ Support and lead all regional audit requirements from finance, tax and employment authorities across region
Stakeholder Management
・ Work with the Director of Operations and partner with the Senior Regional sales team to drive strategy, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer excellence.
・ Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g. Technology, Marketing, Finance, Audit, HR, Reward, Talent Acquisition and L&D)
Performance
・ Create objectives clearly aligned to operations strategy and business strategy set for all team members.
・ Create, implement, and embed KPIs and SLAs. Provide insight and analysis to the regions. Continually drive improvement in results
・ Utilise the expertise of talent effectively, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles to deliver the vision and plan. succession to ensure high-quality leadership and SME pipeline.
Budget & Cost Control
・ Managing the preparation and completion of APAC operational regional budget ensuring savings are implemented year on year and deliver in line with strategic growth targets.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
・ Active member on the APAC Board and accountable for progressing all internal audit points and statutory regional (Tax/employment) audits to a satisfactory conclusion
・ Build a strong robust Controls and Governance function and ensure a full Controls forum and Controls SME community is in place
・ Ensure functional teams comply with local legislation, industry regulation and internal SThree policies and maintain accurate data on SThree's global databases
・ Responsible to deliver against external regulatory and government audits and expectations e.g. Ministry of Manpower and Haken.
Experience
・ Previous experience in leading Regional Business Operational teams within a Global company
・ Experience in an operation role within the recruitment sector (preferred, not essential) with a focus on Employee and Independent Contractor Models
・ A demonstrated ability to lead a department by engagement with all staff, sharing of vision, values and deliverables
・ Proven experience in project management
・ Experience of defining business objectives and of successful execution
・ Experience of senior stakeholder management
Skills & Knowledge
・ Fluent English is essential, business level or above Japanese is preferred
・ Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with operational stakeholders
・ The ability to work across various cultures and positively influence people remotely
・ Ability to plan and organise workloads and manage multiple tasks and demands within deadlines ・ Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills
・ Expert User of MS Excel, Proficient User of Word, PowerPoint
